Sustainable Communities through Strong Leaders

Mekong Minority Foundation is a Christian community development organisation working to build the capacity of tribal communities in northern Thailand . Launched in 2005 and based in Chiang Rai, MMF aims to equip, train and empower marginalised people to develop sustainable solutions to the complex problems that impact their communities. Due to globalisation and modernization, tribal communities are facing unprecedented issues of poverty, transmigration, trafficking and exploitation, debt and environmental destruction. MMF is uniquely positioned in the Mekong Sub-Region to help address these issues.
In 2008 MMF went through a restructuring process in which five key strategy areas were highlighted:
1. Leadership Capacity Building
2. Community Economic Development
3. Education and Learning
4. Human Rights
5. Funding Support and Fund Raising

MMF's projects span these strategies to reach out to youth, migrant workers, tribal leaders and farmers while also fostering strong relationships and partnerships with the local church.
