Visitors can experience tribal villages in northern Thailand firsthand and see the work that is being carried out by MMF and our partners.
This program provides Christians from around the world the opportunity to witness through firsthand experience community development at work, observe Christian mission, be made aware of the needs of local churches, and understand issues in the Mekong sub-region and the history and culture of indigenous peoples. Every tour is tailored to each group's purposes and desires for the trip. Tours may include an overnight stay in one of the villages in which we work enabling participants to gain greater insight into the unique culture of a hill-tribe community. The program also includes presentations on the problems faced by minority groups in Thailand , the history of Christian development work in the area, and information about MMF's current projects. While visiting both well known tourist attractions and locales off the beaten path, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the history and significance of the sites. The program usually runs about three days. Depending on the needs and interests of your group, the timeframe can be negotiated. In addition to helping inform Christians from abroad, the program generates much needed income for the Mekong Minority Foundation and its partner initiatives. The cost of the program varies depending on the size of the group. The average cost per person for a group of 2-6 people is USD80 per day including accommodation, transport, staff costs and meals. A larger group up to 12 people can expect to pay about USD73 per day. For more information email cel@minorityleadership.org To download a brochure about this program, click . .
